Uganda to host the 4th UAE Uganda Business Forum
ABU DHABI – UAE
Uganda is set to host, for the fourth time, the UAE-Uganda Business Forum, due to take place from the 27th to the 29th of October 2025. The forum, now in its fourth year, will be meeting in Kampala for the second time on a rotation basis. This follows a decision to enable business communities from both countries to easily identify business opportunities.

Rt. Honourable Robinah Nabbanja , Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda will be chief guest and shall lead government ministries, departments and agencies as well as the private sector in the engagements. The forum is spearheaded by the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Abu Dhabi and the Uganda Consulate in Dubai headed by Ambassador of Uganda to the United Arab Emirates, H.E. Zaake Wanume Kibedi, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department for Economic Development, Abu Dhbai and Dubai Chambers of Commerce .
According to H.E. Kibedi, the United Arab Emirates is home to 160,000 Ugandans as of 2024, who are actively involved in employment as well as business development of both countries. He said the relationship between the two countries has been on a gradual growth path for the last seven years.
According to the Embassy, in 2018, Uganda’s foreign direct investment was USD 300 million, which has now grown to USD 3.5 billion. Back then, only 40,000 Ugandans called the UAE home, most of whom were in the unskilled labour bracket. Presently out of the 160 thousand Ugandans, about 50,000 are in the domestic labour sector. The rest are in the semi-skilled and skilled brackets leading to a growth in remittances from USD 50 million in 2018 to USD 350 million currently.
The 2025 edition of the Business Forum shall focus on commercialised agriculture, agro-industrialization and agri-business, tourism development, energy (minerals, oil and gas and renewables, infrastructure development, technology and real estate as well as trade and manufacturing.
It shall be held at Speke Resort Munyonyo and hopes to strengthen the existing bilateral relationship between Uganda and the UAE. The two countries have since signed six MOUs in areas of investment, transport, health, energy, diplomatic relations, and capacity building.
“We are excited to host this fourth edition of the Business Forum to continue building opportunities for our two countries and deepen our relationship guided by the leadership of the President of Uganda” said Ambassador Zaake. “I encourage Ugandans to register and participate in the forum, explore and take advantage of the relationships and opportunities of working and doing business in the UAE and in Uganda” he added.
